SATOYAMA KITCHEN

Coexistence With Nature

We travelled to Japan and into the Akita prefecture and regional Ugo town. In this snowy regional Japanese town, we lived a truly authentic Japanese lifestyle and had many traditional Japanese experiences. One of the most memorable experiences was making mochi rice cakes and tempura from scratch in the traditional Japanese way. The Satoyama farmer taught us how to make mochi from rice into the delicious rice cakes everybody loves. We also learnt how to coat tempura and how to deep fry it to create some of the best tempura we’ve ever had in our lives. Join us as we learn how to cook traditional Japanese food. It’s all here in our latest episode of Japanoizy, our original travel video series exploring the best of Japan.
