SNACK LIKE THE DUTCH

From Patat to Stroopwafel - we tried it all

Weed, museums and prostitutes are probably top of mind when you think of The Netherlands. What you probably don’t think about is Dutch snack food. To be honest, Dutch cuisine is pretty unimaginative, it mainly consists of basic veggies and meat dishes that were created out of necessity during World War II (think of smashing together potatoes and veggies until it turns into pulp). However! The Dutch have some of the best snack foods in the world. Most of the snacks are either overly sweet or deep fried, but they’re pretty damn good. Join us as we show you the best of Dutch snack culture from raw herring to stroopwafels. It’s all in our latest episode of Hawker Style, our original videos series exploring street food from across the globe.
