FRIED SCORPIONS IN BEIJING

‘What’s that horrible smell?’ ‘It’s stinky tofu.’ ‘What are those weird wriggling things on that stick?’ ‘Oh, they are scorpions ready to be deep fried.’ Fried scorpions are one of the many snacks that can be slightly daunting for tourists to try in Beijing, China . If you don’t go to the right places you will be hit with a lot of weird food that is mainly on display to entice daring tourists (although stinky tofu is a favourite among locals). Don’t be scared, because Beijing has some the most awesome snack and street food in the world. Would you have expected anything else from the home of Peking Duck? We tried some of the crazy, but also a lot of the normal snacks like dumplings, hot pot, the best Peking Duck in the world and all of the Sichuan we could get in our mouths without dying.
